Pros and cons of CIBC Mobile Wealth app for iPhone and iPad

CIBC Mobile Wealth app good for

Good app but the app icon needs to be changed so that can see a distinct difference between my banking app and my investment app. Even if you had some small letter at the bottom right hand side or changed it to be white and black or a trading graph. Etc.
Saves account info. A little awkward to navigate around. Prefer full browser experience. Have not done any trades yet. Seems stable.
After reading the reviews, was wary about using ... spent time talking to support because I was able to reproduce ... 1. Connection failures I was logged in on website at same time as trying to login on app ... not sure why, but they enforce a one log in at a time policy ... logout of website and then try app ... for me, that fixed connection issue. 2. Username not saved. This one actually is because of 1 above ... one I fixed 1, and got a successful login, my username was saved. 3. Login failure due to User Agreement. Simple ... log into website, go under User Preferences and view agreements ... make sure they are all checked, else it wont let you log in. All of this are pain in ... CIBC could at least give better pop up / error msgs ... but, so far, app does work. Now if they would only update app and bring in TouchID ...
Works really well for me, I just use it to do E-transfers and check my balance here and there and it works well enough for that. Crashes rarely, the card remembering function works properly. Overall I have had really no issues and recommend the app to other CIBC bankers!
CIBC is the leader in innovation but it always bugged me this app was not updated to match the features of the mobile banking app. You would think something high value clients use would result in a better experience but seeing the new interface makes the wait worth it because it is amazing. Kudos CIBC.
Nice, clean look, easy to see & use. Its too bad they still havent formed a proper iPad version.

Some bad moments

The front end of the app is great in the sense that its easy to purchase stocks and monitor what youre invested in. Its bad in the sense it wont save my watch list and I have to restock it every time I log in.
I am a programmer and to say, I never seen a such bad app like this one. Worse app ever. You can never know how much profit you made so far on your investment. They only show you how much is your profit vs yesterday closing value, which is very ridiculous. If you use this broker, and their apps, be careful to not money cuz I did. I compare to many other banks app and this one is a zero, not even a star. Unpleasant design, take forever to load, action not working sometimes. If you have them as broker, trust me, and find another one.!
The features are very old, very basic. Login ID isnt remembered anymore. Needs to be fixed immediately.
Since Ive upgraded to iOS 9.2 the app keeps forgetting my account number. I sure hope a fix is coming soon!
This app crashes when attempting to log in. It also does not save your login ID despite manual selection. It is not very user friendly as I find it difficult to switch between trading screens. Please make this app more user friendly and easy to navigate. I want to see the same info on my computer version of Investor Edge but condensed in a mobile app with stronger UI. Cmon guys look at TDs thinkorswim platform or even Scotia Itrade. How can you incentivize people to trade when even questrade has a better app.
It is great to be able to monitor and trade stocks from a mobile device. However, this app has many fundamental flaws and needs updating....Badly. 1. Fix the problem of saving your user id. 2. Also add Touch ID for logging in. 3. Allow saving of quote lists rather than requiring re-entry of each symbol each time you log in. 4. Make app icon distinct from online banking icon as another poster suggested 5. Make order status list show current bid/ask and sizes (would be helpful) 6. Allow setting of a "default account" to make it easier for those who mostly use one of their accounts (TFSA etc) so it will be selected by default when viewing order status or entering trades Nice to haves: 1. Stock information screen similar to GlobeInvestor showing chart, company name and description, sector, current bid/ask and sizes, day/year high/lows, day/10day/3month average volumes, last trade, etc .. Accessible from quote list 2. Stock filter similar to GlobeInvestors Thanks
